Jay Schwister, Research Director and Senior Portfolio Manager, recently sat down with two long-term interns—George Wong and Victoria Rios—to talk about the impact of the Baird Intern Program. As a senior involved in Marquette University's Applied Investment Management Program, George Wong has developed his finance skills by working with Baird Advisors’ Municipal team for the past two years. Victoria Rios started her internship with Baird Advisors as a freshman in high school through the Cristo Rey work study program. Now a junior at Marquette University, she is working with the communication efforts and the client service team.

Baird Advisors identifies a broad talent pool by partnering with scholarship and college investment programs (e.g., All-In Milwaukee and Girls Who Invest).  This past summer the team welcomed their largest cohort of interns as their commitment to building talent continues to be a priority for the team.

“We are growing our team by identifying talent that is diverse across skillsets, experience and cultural backgrounds,” said Mary Ellen Stanek, Co-Chief Investment Officer at Baird Advisors. “We believe that investing in our intern program is an investment in the future of our firm for the long-term benefit of our clients.”
